Attention collectors.  If you want a sweet BMW collection but have no time to source, restore or customize well here is your chance to pick up both of my bikes at once.  These are my bikes, I am not a dealer.   They are very different but complimentary and look fantastic together.  To split them would be a shame.   Together they make an instant collection, each with its own unique look.   I restored them both.  I took my time and really paid attention to the details on both. First I did the 1960 R50.   It was a complete frame off restoration.  I went all the way on this one, with as many NOS parts I could source.  Even the bar-end blinkers are real hella, not reproduction.  Stainless exhaust etc...    The frame was powder coated for durability.   The gauge was restored by Palo Alto Speedo...  no expense spared on this beautiful restoration.   Pin stripes were done by hand by a local pro.   I must have rode it less than 100 miles since the complete restoration.    The bike just sits beautifully in my garage, unused.   This bike won "best in show" at a Beverly Hills classic bike show.    Not much else to say about this one other than it’s close to perfect.   (Note that you might see a R50S badge on the rear fender, which I applied using museum putty so it’s removable.  The bike is not a R50S but I thought it looked cool.)Then, realizing that I did not always want to ride my precious show queen R50, I decided to tackle another project.  This time I wanted something more modern, customized to my aesthetics.  So, I picked what I consider to be the last of the classics.  The R75/5 is the last model with a kick start (it also has an electric starter but having a kick start is cool).   With its beautiful headlight/gauge combo and gorgeous lines this model was a perfect candidate for a custom cafe racer.   I started slow, figuring out how I wanted to customize it.  I knew I wanted to keep the “less is more” philosophy on this build.    I sourced a large tank, removed the air box (replaces with individual air filters and had a custom cradle made for the battery ), removed the exhaust connections between left and right side pipes, cut down the rear frame, and had a custom seat made from water buffalo.   Lots of other custom details here and there and voila !  The shorty pipes are loud but fit the bike well.   I would probably have replaced them if I was ridding more.   I played a lot with the textures, materials, and sheen on this bike.   A mix of flat and gloss paints, brushed aluminum and chrome.  I wanted the bike to feel aggressive and bad ass but in its most distilled and simple form.   The result is an incredibly attractive R75/5 that turns heads but retains an understated elegance. I am hoping to find someone who loves classic BMWs and have the means to drop a decent amount of money to acquire both together.  Located in Los Angeles, we can make arrangements to see the bikes.  You will fall in love with both.  Obviously, shipping/transport will be the buyer's responsibility.   No test drives.   Here are videos from a few years ago.   What you hear are the loud shorty pipes of the Custom R75.  The R50 is very quiet and extremely smooth.  The first video shows me adjusting the choke of each carburetors to "sync" them.  (The bike is cold so it's revving pretty fast).   In the second video, I'm trying to film my R75 while riding the R50.  Not an advisable move !Text or call to discuss.  A lot move pictures available.Stephan(323) 697 7955 1960 BMW R50/2 and Custom 1971 BMW R75/5 - YouTube Video will open in a new windowUsing the eBay App?
